Why Leave Behind a Rapture Survival Kit?

When I was saved in February 2004, I was greatly blessed to have been introduced early on about the Rapture. Even so, it was not the first time I had heard of the Rapture. I can remember being unsaved and watching televangelist Jack Van Impe as he went through the scriptures and spoke about the Rapture. This, of course, made no sense to me at the time. However, it did make my acceptance of the Rapture easier once I had come to know the Lord. This is not the case, however, for most people.
I have family members that had never heard about the Rapture until long after they had been saved. This is a subject that is often taboo and can bring forth controversy even among those in the body of Christ. Yet the Lord is awesome in that, if you just take the Bible as it is written and not add to it our humanity (and flaws), it speaks so simply that even a small child can understand what is written in it.
It was not long after my salvation, and my exploration of Bible prophecy, that it occured to me to prepare a kit that could be found by those that have been left behind at the Rapture of the Church. The majority of my blood family members have been caught up in to the cult of "all ways lead to heaven." Or worse, the "if I'm just good enough, I'll get into heaven by my own merit" crowd. My attempt to share the simple Gospel message with them was rebuffed by the vast majority of them. So, I know without a doubt, that many of them will be left behind when the Lord calls me home.
It was for this reason that I first put together my own Rapture Survival Kit. It consists of a mix of various items that I collected since the time of my salvation in 2004. I wanted to leave something behind for those that will go through the Tribulation that could bring someone to salvation. There will be many lies and untruths about what has happened to believers in Jesus that have suddenly "just vanished." It is my hope that I can give someone the materials they'll need to see what the truth really is, and to share with others in those dark 7 years.
Never would I have thought up a website that would enourage others to do the same. One of my best friends, James, actually came up with the idea and secured this website. It is my hope (and his too, I believe) that this will give many others a flickering candle in the darkness after we believers in Jesus are gone.
This will take you time to put together, especially if you have limited resources. Yet I believe it will reap many rewards. I personally believe that if you leave behind this kit that someone will be saved by the contents within and spared an eternity in hell. Please join with us in leaving the truth behind for a world that will be cast into darkness.
